So we’re starting a blog…

… and I’m kinda stoked about it 🙂 I’m wanting to catalog a little more about our life and what’s going on, share some insights and just have a place to write more! To be honest, there are times when I open instagram, write a sappy post with all my thoughts, and then realize that no one on instagram likes reading novels. But here, free rein baby!

What happened in January

January has been off to a great start! School started, I finished a 2 month(ish) instagram fast, we celebrated the New Year with Alysee and a movie night. All in all, great!

Finally fertile!!

On another note, I got my IUD out last week!!! Alex and I are nervous and excited as we’ve switched to the FAM method. I’m using my Tempdrop each night to sleep and it records my BBT, then I examine my cervical mucus, and positioning to see if I’m fertile. The only issue is that we got hit flat on our backs by a gnarly flu this week. Both Alex and I felt feverish, chilly, had sore throats and headaches. It was a nightmare. So, as you can imagine my temperatures were out the roof, and we had quite honestly no clue where I was in my cycle. Fun.

Still, getting my period back has been something I’ve been wanting for a while. The menstrual cycle is amazing! More on that later, but for now, we’re experimenting other types of birth control, and just enjoying being synthetic hormone free.

Family, Sushi and Fun!

We were able to have my sister Aubrey over for the week as well! We visited my Aunt Aimee, went to the YUMMIEST brunch spot (shout out to you Redmond Farms in Orem), watched cop shows and enjoyed just spending time together. I loved every bit of it, and was sad when it was over!

I also had an evening this week where I just CRAVED sushi, so I initiated an Alexa Ditto Photography Employer Incentive, and finished a wedding gallery then ordered 6 rolls of sushi.

And we saw friends this week, which was heavenly. Winter is so gloomy and lonely, so it was nice to relax and have fun with great company. For now, Alex and I are chugging along. I’m going to get back to getting myself ready for school today, and he’s at work 🙂 Life is going as best it can, and we’re even seeing some beautiful sunshine today.
